Ubuntu 12.10 is a free operating system that is based off the Linux kernel. It is the most popular Linux distribution ever. It uses the Unity desktop enviroment, and is a Debian-based distribution. The main disadvantages of this operating system are compatibility, as to run many Windows applications, you will need a third party application called Wine. Even then some may not run sadly.
